ZOMG another PDQ! Ok, not part of the 100 comic challenge, but it IS a PDQ! I’ve been very distracted by the rest of my life, and it’s been getting in the way of doing something I enjoy doing:
Making comics.
It’s funny how we can get so easily distracted from things we enjoy, the things that make us happy, and before long we wonder what we’re doing and why we’re so unhappy… So this weekend’s homework: Go forth and do something you really enjoy. Something you haven’t done in a long time. Then send me an email or a note on Facebook about it!
APE was Fantastic! All you wonderful people who came and visited me at the table, THANK YOU! You guys made the con.
I’ll give you all a little peek at the next few bits of work from me: PDQs are restarting in the next couple weeks, I’ll be getting my HHFM buffer back up, and I’m plotting the 2009 Christmas special right now! Fun times ahead. You may have noticed the homebuying banner is down. I’m back on track, starting today.
ok, well, yesterday… that being when I wrote this.
…cause I’m like that, you know.
And today we return to STRIPS! There’s something I greatly enjoy about the strip format. Maybe it’s the precise lines, perhaps that I generally employ a stronger sense of layout. All in all, I’m not really sure. What I do know, is that I don’t have to worry about telling a story and sticking to it while I still tell jokes.
Things are starting to finally clear up on my schedule a little, so I should be able to pick up the pace and get back to working on things like you know… building a buffer… >.<
A new PDQ will be up soon, so keep your eyes out for that. Also remember the Colada comic I’m doing over at Deviantart account…
This concludes Chapter 1. I certainly hoped you enjoyed it.
This was my first real attempt at an extended long-term story arc, and I must say, I learned a lot. Some of the lessons were painful, some boring and entirely uninteresting. One of the main things I’ve learned is that I really must have more time before I take HHFM to any more extended storylines. We’ll be going back to single strips for the foreseeable future, also because I’m kicking around some other really fun ideas that I want to do. You’ll get a sneak peek in a few days of the main project, but I’m aiming at most of the real stuff starting after the first of the year.
I’m already looking forward to next year, and the projects I’m lining up for it now. So hold tight. In the mean time, please enjoy the PDQs and the rather random Colada updates
Remember, the Katgirl and I will be at APE in San Francisco with our friend Erin from Timothy Green!
