Well, it may actually make sense…
I have to say, this week’s PDQ is probably the most depressing PDQ I’ve ever written. It’s not even funny. No, really, it’s rather sad… in fact, I cried myself to sleep after writing it. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I inked it, and the wailing of lost souls from the River Styx was momentarily silenced as they saw what I had wrought.
Ok, maybe it’s not that bad, but I do like the imagery… so READ IT! READ IT NOW!!!
Another reminder: Come back Thursday for a special HHFM! Then even MORE special HHFMs start on December 2!
That is all! See you Wednesday!
Darth Vader? Show? Did you forget so soon why we’re going to Disneyland in the first place??
Today I’m pimpin’ Katgirl Studio’s Art-a-thon Challenge! Kat has started this little endeavour to draw any artists in who want a little more exposure, and want to challenge themselves to post some art 5 days a week. It’s been up and running now for over a week. I started there last friday and already, there’s some stuff that you won’t find here at HHFM, nor on my Deviantart account. Drop in and have a look-see! If you’re an artist and want to participate, send the Katgirl a note and she’ll sign you up. I think it’s excellent practice for those who want to make a career of making their art, and sharing it with the world.
Sorry for the missed newspost yesterday, a technical error (called ‘oh crap, too busy to write it!’) occured and swallowed it. If you’re reading this, then you can go back to yesterday’s and read it, too.
Finally, more pimpin’ of our special HHFM holiday event. In just 9 days, HHFM is bringing you something fun, so grab a friend and drag them over so they can read from the beginning!
As always, don’t forget to Vote for HHFM! New PDQ was posted Monday!!
See you Monday!

This comic is almost an exact representation of what happened to me at Disneyland, sans weapons. They have these little sunshade gazebos with tables and a bunch of people there to inspect your bags… most of these people are usually older, under-equipped individuals performing incomplete inspections of your bags and you. Like so much of the rest of Disneyland, it’s a facade, a veneer of security to make people feel better about themselves, because the only things they’re going to find are people who are too stupid to hide their drugs or weapons, or too bold or brazen to think they’re actually going to get caught.
It actually made me feel less safe by letting me think about it… what would happen if someone actually wanted to cause harm? With no radios or other alert devices, no metal detectors or x-ray machines, what are a few senior citizens going to do?
Ultimately, this is just more evidence that we are a people who cling to our lies and falsehoods, because it’s easier to believe than it is to know.
Back to more happy topics: apparently, I can’t read a calendar; in regards to our special HHFM holiday event, I actually meant Monday December FIRST instead of the second… so yeah… in just 11 days, HHFM is bringing you something fun, grab a friend and drag them over so they can read from the beginning!
As always, don’t forget to Vote for HHFM! New PDQ was posted Monday!!
See you Friday!

Has anyone seen the original version of The Fog? You know, the one by John Carpenter? Fantastic movie! Amazing what you can do with a couple fog machines, some creative lighting, and a good script. If you haven’t seen it, go forth and DO SO! You may find that the recent remake is total crap.
Man, I’m so glad it’s Monday and that I can go to work… so I can relax from my busy comic-drawing weekend… Don’t worry, you’ll see the fruits of my labor very soon. Soon enough that I can even give you a DATE…
Tune in on Monday, December 2 for an extra-special HHFM event… Yes, another one… as if my birthday wasn’t enough, or issue #100, or the couple of holidays that I did something different. Speaking of which, there will be an extra comic for Thanksgiving, (Thursday, Nov 27) even if it is a holiday only in the United States.
Don’t forget to Vote for HHFM! New PDQ is posted Monday!!
See you Wedensday!
I really wanted to take some time with a couple of these and stretch my artistic legs. I haven’t had a chance to sit and really draw for some time, and I really enjoyed the opportunity. HHFM is (obviously) trucking along, and I’m in the final stages of prepping some more merchandise. I’ll be posting it first on the Facebook Fangroup, as it’s mostly a test run of some different merchandise… A small production run and limited selection. However, if you want to hear about it before it’s announced on the main site, GO SIGN UP!
In other news, I apologize about the poorly sized PDQ on Monday and Tuesday. As of today, it’s fixed. It was oversized because I sent the incomplete file to Webmonkey Ben, and he (as a matter of principle) doesn’t read the comics until it’s time to post them… so he didn’t see the error.
All. My. Fault.
One of the fans mentioned that I should take the little frames and make them animated .gifs for avatars… sounds like not a bad idea… having never made animated .gifs it might even be an interesting challenge. Is anyone else interested in more avatars? And yes, I know I need to do one of the Gnome. I’ll likely have a chance this weekend.
Yes, it seems that Rossi and James are off on vacation to Disneyland… to see Darth Vader, (makes sense… right?)
In other news, the 2008 California Renaissance season ended this past weekend, it was a lovely faire, and I spent a good portion of the weekend hanging out, chatting with friends, and sitting around campfires. I also made a fantastic leather pouch and looked out over a small lake/pond/river thing. The sunsets were gorgeous…
I need a digital camera, dammit.
This holiday season is shaping up nicely, and I’ll be doing ANOTHER special comic run this december. I’m still working out the exact start/end dates, but I think it’ll be a LOT of fun.
More news Wednesday, See you all then!
oh, and remember to VOTE! There’s a new PDQ which went up Monday.
Best wishes,
Aleric
