We now return you to your regularly scheduled story arc.
Ah, the Bard. So eloquent a writer, his verse has been an inspiration to artists for generations. Although I suspect he’d be clubbing me with a manuscript if he could see what I just did with Hamlet’s soliloquy. On the other hand, considering how much of his verse has been taken out of high school curriculum, maybe he’d actually applaud me for doing my little part to keep his works alive.
So harken friends, and pray attend my words. Methinks it would be a day fine-spent if thou wouldst go and peruse one of his many masterpieces.
…Even if it is the Klingon Hamlet.
One other thing I should mention. It was brought to my attention that I failed to thank someone for their part in getting HHFM off the ground. This person is near and dear to my heart, and I apologize for the oversight: Jamie, thank you for providing such a perfect name for my comic, and for the inspiration that you have provided thus far. Finally, I’m happy to share, I got my first FAN MAIL the other day!! I’m so excited, here’s a little bit of it to share with you all!
Just want to say right now your comic looks promising and a like a good read. I will be following it. Just as an FYI I was the kid with the 40k Dark Templar army talking to you about WoW.
Thanks for the encouragement, Samus! It’s great to hear that people are enjoying my comic… and if you stay tuned long enough, you may even see a comic based on some of the things we chatted about… For the rest of you, let this serve as fair warning! Any positive emails I get may encourage me to make more comics…
…I’m just saying.

I hope you all have gotten your taxes done, Tomorrow’s the last day. I know I need to send some of my tax papers in. Fun times. Sorry for the interruption of the current arc. I just couldn’t resist throwing in this little observation about how many tax day advertisements, reminders, and other things we’re seeing everywhere.
So: No, this comic isn’t JUST about World of Warcraft.
Oh yeah… there’s a new Vote! incentive for this week! Want to see mah werkspace? VOTE! Link is on the left!! After you vote, tell your friends how Aleric is a fantastically funny cartoonist, and that you’re totally addicted to reading Hell Has Found Me. So what if you’re fibbing a little… it’s all for a good cause. Keeping my self esteem from sinking into a swirling black pit of despair.
First time I ever went on a raid in World of Warcraft, I was terrified that it would adversely affect my character. I was so new to MMOs that I barely had any idea what I was doing. Turned out that pvp was thrilling, challenging, and frustrating all at once.
Poor Rossi. I think he’s about to learn the frustrating part.
On a much more interesting note, some of you might know of my Deviantart account, and if you follow it at all you might have noticed that a couple of my speedpaintings were included in the collection of quality art in this news post. Now I know it’s not the Louvre, but I feel incredibly excited and honored to be featured with so many other fine pieces of art, so Thank You, Inqy!!
Lastly, thanks to all of my readers who voted for HHFM on Top Web Comics! We went from below #3700 up to the mid 700s in just a couple of days! So go get some of your friends, get them to read Hell Has Found Me, and then click the vote button on the left sidebar.
See you all Monday!
Hell Has Found Me has been active for a whole week! Well, with 4 comics done, more than a week really, but who’s counting?
I’d love to see some more readers, and start making my way to one of the best webcomics around, and to that end, I’d like to ask all you lovely readers two favors:
First,
Forward the link to your friends! Share this comic with others! Tell them how great this comic is, or at least how not-boring it is.
Second,
Click this link, and VOTE! for HHFM on this top-comics website.
Update @ 8:02am:
Webmonkey says: Sorry about the missing comic this morning, folks — teething troubles with the new site. I’ve fixed the problem now and docked myself a day’s bananas.
Got a great response from one of my new readers:
“Okay, definately adding your comic to my favourites bar. You are now officially the 32nd comic on my ‘watchlist’. And you know what they say: ‘32nd’s a charm’”
It’s good to know that HHFM can stand out in a crowd. Possibly more encouraging is that our new reader is using such words as “definitely” and “favourites”… and even in the same sentence! How is this important to you? Well, it means that by reading HHFM, you also have distinguished tastes and high standards… and yes, I’m saying that with a straight face.
If you haven’t noticed yet, we already have a brand-new feature here… that being a “Contact” link over there on the left! So tell me what you think! I promise that your email won’t go into some evil marketing black hole for you to receive a ton more spam. Even better, I promise I’ll respond to the email. Really!
Keep your eyes on this site, because it will keep getting updated, and I don’t mean just the comic. Soon you will see more links, more features, better images, RSS feeds, and lots of other things! We gots Plans, baby!
Just a little note, there are some things I forgot to mention the first time around:
We update Monday-Wednesday-Friday, and my current comic drawing schedule has found me with more than a month of comics that are ready to go, so stick around, this comic certainly isn’t going to fade away or fail to update… That is, unless some random unforeseeable event happens, like a meteor falls out of the sky and lands on my head.
Another big thank you that I really should send out is to all the members of my WoW guild, Grimhorn Tribe. Not only are they among the coolest people I have ever met online, but they are an unending font of wisdom and wit. Cheers!
Today’s Comic: Press Ganged.
Introducing the ineffable Rossi! How do you know his name? It’s because you’re psychic and you know these things…
Enjoy! And I’ll see you all on Monday!
I’m Scott Aleric, the writer, artist, and all-around creator of this webcomic. I hope you’ll enjoy reading this comic as much as I enjoy making it! It takes a lot of effort to get a comic up and running, and I’d like to thank a few of the people that helped me get to this point…
Thanks to:
Mom and Dad. Thanks for your support and encouragement, and your bottomless well of tolerance for all my bad jokes over the years.
My sisters. Humor begets humor, and I wouldn’t be inflicting my wit on the rest of the world if you didn’t laugh at me first (or were you laughing with me?).
Ben, my Web Guru. Your input and insights are matched only by your genius. Yeah, I know. It’s easy to impress me. Don’t be so modest.
My Girlfriend, who puts up with me, even though I torture her with the WURST PUNCHLINES EVAR (even worse than the family had to put up with).
There are hundreds of other people I’d love to mention here, but I’m sure you’d get tired of reading a list of names pretty quick, so we’ll just stop there. Suffice it to say, humorists take inspiration where it strikes them. Consequently, the entire world is their inspiration… So really, thank YOU.
Hell Has Found Me was originally conceived as a comic about two characters as they explored and played World of Warcraft. As I wrote and explored the characters, I learned that their universe encompassed more than just the algorithm-laden, animated-pixelated-scripted world that WoW represents. So sit back and enjoy as James, Rossi and the rest of the gang explore their world, and maybe, just maybe, laugh now and then.
