The Los Gatos art festival went swimmingly… mostly. We did meet quite a few cool people and gave away a few comics. I think that I’ll be going to more art and wine festivals in the future. In other news, the Katgirl and I got accepted to Alternative Press Expo!! This is terribly exciting, because as you may remember, we didn’t get in last year. This year we will be there, so I need to focus now on sprucing up the website a little more and getting more cool things for you all to start collecting.
…always more work to do! See you Wednesday!

Guest comic — Slug-life (2)
Did you catch yesterday’s Slug-Life guest comic? I thought it was a lot of fun, but this one was much better. I love the devil Windows-duckie.
Tomorrow, the Katgirl and I will be at the Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes, the Art festival in Los Gatos for the entire weekend. This will be our first time with a booth at an art and wine festival. If you can’t come by and visit, cross your fingers for us! We hope it’ll go well… Oh, and I’ll actually have a few copies of a new Exclusive event comic to give away…
So you may have noticed something a little different today.
That’s right. I finally went on vacation… and I’m actually (kind of) taking it. Several friends were kind enough to take up the pen and submit some guest comics/art and today we start with a Fanservice of Travinity… by the one and only Katgirl. She did apologize for the lack of color, but the trip we’re on has actually been eating all her time.
Today went swimmingly, I got up at 2 am, showered and finished packing the car by 2.45 am. We were out the door and on our way to Los Angeles (leaving our roommate and house kitties behind). We took our sweet time and finally arrived (after a couple stops, a quick nap and some breakfast) sometime around 9.30am. Since we couldn’t check in until 3pm, I thought it would be brilliant to go to the Santa Monica Pier. We wandered around the beach, ate some lunch and bummed around.
Anecdotal highlights:
- the huge number of children boogieboarding through the surf and crashing into other people
- the 2 lifeguards: one of them overtanned, rather stocky and hairy. the other, tall, young and in shape… and of course the unending stream of women wanting to pose for photos with him.
- The Epic old woman made of creaky bones and leather, wearing a turquoise blue sundress. We saw her perhaps 5 times over the course of the day, and she was trukking around the pier with a cane in hand, pulling her little cart beside her. Man, she was everywhere, and something about her indomitable 4 foot 8 inch frame was undeniably cool.
- The volunteer-run local wildlife aquarium and the critters they had in there… of course, I took some photos.
I’ll have a few more guest comics for you next week! Have a great weekend, I know I will!

Poor George, he’s just been having the roughest day. Big dogs, ruined labs… you’d think someone was out to get him.
In other news, I’ll be going on vacation at the end of the week, but don’t panic! I’ve got some guest comics for you all. We’ll be seeing them Monday at the latest, so I hope you enjoy them.
I’ll be headed down to the LA area, the Katgirl will be at the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Summer Conference, and I’ll be hanging out working on my own stuff.
Then we go to Disneyland again. I’ll be updating my Twitter feed more regularly to keep you all updated. Remember that you can follow me on Twitter, or over on Facebook, or even on the Facebook fanclub (which I need to understand a little better).
Talk to you all soon!
This one is a continuation of the last time we saw George… I don’t think he likes dogs very much.
Remember that I’m pulling back a little bit, Friday’s comic will not be part of the main continuity. I hope you like it
How was Comicon?? Man I wish I had gone. That would have been fantastic. Talk to you all soon!
